Ramblings for team Best Days as we embark on our vintage adventure

AW/14 Fashion Shoot, behind the scenes

Come behind the scenes of our AW photoshoot for a sneak peak of the fun, frolics and sexual tension (the latter was covered by Jake Golding).  Plus you lucky people will get a glimpse of what’s to come at BDV for the coming frostier months.

Day One

Models Jake and Georgia joined us for a day of looking pretty whilst the rest of us ran around fueling their caffeine addiction and fixing their hair.  The theme of day one was an urban winter, with street style looks that could be easily pulled out for college or uni with natural hair and make-up to match. Expect lots of graffiti, exposed brickwork and sultry expressions.

Track of the day: Vanilla Ice 'Ice Ice Baby'.
Viva la 90s baby, Jake and Georgia impressed us by rapping the entire song. Skills.

Day Two

All change for the second day of shooting as we welcomed Summer and Henry to the set (I use the word lightly), for some on location action in the atmospheric setting of Friday Woods armed with coloured smoke bombs.  With stylist Lou from Fringe Art Team onboard, hair was sufficiently froofed and shooshed (other hairdressing slang is available) to make for a 60s vibe to complement the swing dresses and mini skirts. The make up was bolder, with blues, purples and red lip all making an appearance.   After struggling to light the smoke bombs, they eventually came alive creating a sinister twist to the dog walker’s well worn paths.  Think MJ’s Thriller meets Blair Witch.  The army didn’t seem to mind us interrupting their training exercise either!

Track of the day: Don Henley 'Boys of Summer'.
The perfect combination of atmospheric lyrics and slightly (very) camp 80s vibe. Plus, our girl’s name was Summer!
