The last few tantalizing weeks of the summer holidays are always a mix of nostalgia (for those of us who won’t be going back to school), dread (for those of us who will be returning to education) and the exciting spirit of renewal that September always brings regardless of age. If back to school means a new start, then the last weeks of August should be spent throwing caution to the wind and embracing all the activities you’ve put off throughout summer. Tell that boy you’ve been flirting with for six weeks you like them- we dare ya, buy a ticket for Reading or Bestival to see off the summer in style, or simply dust off your dancing shoes and hit the town.
However, to truly have the courage to make the most of this unique window in the space-time continuum you should let your clothes reflect this mood of sunny optimism and invest in some off kilter vintage finds that will make you ready for anything. We suggest bold prints and fun tailoring to drag the last of the summer out whether it likes it or not. Here are a few of our August favourites
Animal print, but not as you know it.
This turkey print cropped shirt is the perfect compliment to a lazy bank holiday weekend BBQ or picnic.
Jazzy patterns, not just for girls
At Best Days Vintage we don’t like to discriminate, so there are enough printed shirts for boys and girls! Try paisley for an autumnal feel, buttoned up with a neutral shade of trouser.
No matter how hard you try and kid yourself, the last few weeks of summer are traditionally not that hot and or steamy. Don’t pretend you’re still in Malia and prance about in hot pants. Cover up on a breezy trip to the seaside with a loony sweater. We like this pink Taz round neck jumper.
